Pool Type Entity

Swim Spa

A larger spa (12–20 ft) with jets for swimming in place and hydrotherapy.

Definition

A swim spa combines the exercise function of a lap pool with the hydrotherapy features of a hot tub. Typically 12–20 feet long and holding 1,000–2,000 gallons, swim spas have a jet system that creates a current for swimming in place. Chemistry management is similar to hot tubs but with a larger water volume, reducing the impact of bather load. Many swim spas have separate hot tub and swim sections with separate chemistry.
